What this tool does

This calculator works out the exact dates of your Saturn returns: the times in your life when the planet Saturn comes back to the same place in the zodiac as when you were born. It shows your first, second and third returns, the full period when Saturn is back in your natal Saturn sign, and the exact day or days it reaches your birth degree, with your age at each one. A written reading then explains what your Saturn return means for you, based on your Saturn sign and what matters most to you right now.

The dates are calculated astronomically, not estimated from your age, so they are specific to your birthday.

When to use it

Most people hear about the Saturn return in their late twenties, when life can feel like it is asking them to grow up, commit or change direction. Use the calculator if you are around 27 to 30 and want to know whether your return has started, if you are approaching your late fifties and your second return, or if you are simply curious about a past chapter of your life and when it fell.

It is also useful for working out a partner's or friend's return dates, as Saturn returns often line up with big decisions about relationships, careers and where to live.

How it works

You choose your date of birth, and if you like, your birth time and town. Saturn moves so slowly that your date of birth alone fixes its position; the time and place add the house your Saturn sits in, for a more personal reading. The tool calculates where Saturn was when you were born, then finds every date it returns to that exact degree. Because Saturn appears to move backwards for part of each year, it can cross your birth degree up to three times during one return, and the calculator lists each crossing. Place names come from GeoNames.

You do not need to give your name or email to use it. The reading is for reflection and encouragement, not a prediction of events.
